PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Master’s degree program in International Relations and Diplomacy is a one-year program that offers masters’ students the following:

  1. Improving the knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level as well as developing skills through research activities in order to form personnel who will take a leadership role at highly qualified international-diplomatic affairs
  2. Methodological education through which students are trained to independently design and conduct research in the field of international relations and diplomacy
  3. Acquiring knowledge, especially those segments related to: research methods in international relations and diplomacy; factors and theories of analysis in international relations and diplomacy; creation of foreign policy and diplomacy; the current economic problems and policies; international organizations and current issues in international relations
  4. Effective solving of professional problems based on professional knowledge and skills, as well as critical and creative thinking; the acquisition of competencies in the field of research in international relations, and creation the competencies that are lacking in public sector BIH, but also in many foreign companies as well as in local companies that cooperate with foreign countries

STUDENT LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Masters’ students will improve the knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level and develop skills through research activities in order to form the leadership teams ready to take the lead in highly qualified international - diplomatic affairs
  2. Masters’ students will learn how to independently conceptualize and conduct research in the field of international relations and diplomacy
  3. Masters’ students will gain knowledge, especially in those segments related to research methods in international relations and diplomacy, factors and theories of analysis in international relations and diplomacy, creating foreign policy and diplomacy, the current economic problems and policies, international organizations and current issues in international relations
  4. Masters’ students will learn how to effectively solve technical problems on the basis of professional knowledge and skills, as well as critical and creative thinking
  5. Masters’ students will gain competence in the field of research in international relations
  6. Masters’ students will effectively use their thinking, argumentation and analytical skills, which will help them to improve the use of literature in international law and other necessary resources for professional development career
  7. Masters’ students will learn to identify, analyze and formulate research questions, taking into account the launch of the research in the field of International and European law

After successfully completing their studies, masters’ students gain an accredited diploma in the USA, the EU, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina: They can get the job in the government or other government agencies, ministries, the political parties as an advisory analysts and organizers, and in various non-governmental organizations and corporations. This program prepares masters students for an international career for which is necessary knowledge and skills that go beyond the boundaries of traditional academic disciplines.

Public service and government institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, international business, multinational companies. Employment is possible locally, regionally and internationally.

Enrolling students are required to have a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university.

MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY

Master’s degree program in International Relations and Diplomacy enables students to gain necessary knowledge for essential understanding of international relations, multilateralism, regional integration and diplomatic institutions, practices and systems. The study was designed with the intention that students studying political, legal, economic and cultural aspects of modern society develop analytical skills and understand complex problems that transcend national borders.
