AMBASSADOR RALPH R. JOHNSON BECOMES THE THIRD AMERICAN DIPLOMAT APPOINTED AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Earlier today, Ralph R. Johnson, former US Ambassador to Slovakia, and the former Principal Deputy High Representative of the European Union for Bosnia and Herzegovina, was appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a distinguished institution of higher education which, at the same time, is the first career-oriented university in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. AUBiH offers closely specialized study departments, U.S. diplomas and programs recognized in the Unites States of America, the European Union, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, all of which are fully harmonized with the rules and goals of the Bologna process.
In addition to Clifford Bond and Montgomery William, Ralph R. Johnson is the third member of the Board of Trustees of American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UO AUBiH) coming from the US Foreign Service as an ambassador and a distinguished diplomat. Ambassador Ralph R. Johnson was the Principal Deputy High Representative in the Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo from August 1999 to July 2001.Before assuming his duty in Sarajevo, Ambassador Johnson was the US Ambassador to Slovakia for three years (199-1999). Following his retirement from the Foreign Service, Ambassador Johnson and his wife Jacqueline established a consulting company in Slovakia which provided political risk assessment and political advisory services to US and other investors in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Ralph R. Johnson is a Director in the International Practice Group of Quinn Gillespie & Associates, Washington DC.
