In the Sarajevo City Hall, the ninth generation of graduates of American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBiH) was promoted.
The promotion was attended by several hundred guests and family members, as well as high-ranking officials, including dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, and H.E. HaldunKoç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
-This is a proud day for these students and a big celebration of their success. We are here to celebrate together with you. You may have had difficult moments during your education, but today you are aware that all of your efforts have finally paid off. At this university, you have not only acquired academic knowledge, but also skills of critical and analytical thinking. From now on, these valuable skills will lead you through your professional and private life and encourage you to search for the truth. Independent and critical thinking will always brighten your way into the future, said H.E. Koçin his address.
On behalf of the academic staff of AUBiH, Professor Selmo Cikotić addressed the audience.
-The quality and degrees obtained at American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been recognized in the US, the EU, Turkey and BiH. Our teaching staff consists of prominent professors and experts from the US, Europe and BiH. I feel proud that this cohort of AUBiH students is awarded diplomas as recognition of their hard work and effort as well as verification of the knowledge they have gained here. Today, these young people have accomplished an important life goal, which provides them with new possibilities and opportunities.
Denis Sullivan, professor of the Boston Northeastern University, said that he was delighted to be a longtime friend and partner of AUBIH.
-Our universities have been partners for the past seven years, and we will continue this partnership in the future. Together, we have developed programs, strengthening the dialogue between US and Bosnian students. Our common goal is the high quality of global education and students' success through practical education.
The ceremony was officially closed by awarding diplomas to the ninth generation of graduates of American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBiH).
