PRESIDENT CLINTON EXPRESSED SATISFACTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF AUBIH
Representatives of the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBIH, led by President Denis Prcić met with Bill Clinton, former U.S. President, during his visit to Montenegro.
AUBiH President Denis Prcić thanked President Clinton for the efforts of the development plan Euro - Atlantic integration of the entire region, but also for the improvement of mutual cooperation between the countries of Southeast Europe, stressing the importance of developing education as a strategic important determinants of long-term progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region as a whole.
President Clinton wanted to hear the views of AUBiH representatives about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while expressing hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region will soon move forward towards the EU and NATO. President Prcić described his views on the current situation to Mr. Clinton and said that action should be directed at young people who will be able to overcome the current problems through quality education.
AUBiH President Denis Prcić informed President Clinton on the activities of the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina and development plans related to the region. President Clinton expressed his satisfaction with the success of AUBiH, and reiterated his continued support to this University.
Denis Prcić is a member of Clinton Global Initiative, an NGO founded by former U.S. president, while dealing with various forms of assistance to vulnerable groups. The same day in Budva, President Clinton opened the conference "Balkan Social Networking for Empowerment of South Eastern Europe (Balkan initiative to strengthen the society of Southeast Europe). It was attended by former and current heads of states and governments of the region Mile Đukanovic, Stipe Mesić, and Milan Kučan. President Clinton also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sven Alkalaj. The meeting was organized by the Government of Montenegro headed by Prime Minister Igor Lukšić and the Atlas Group, whose president is Duško Knežević.
AUBiH representatives had meetings with ministers of education, ministers of foreign affairs and defense of Montenegro, in order to inform them about the initiative of opening the American University in this country.
