REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AT THE ANNUAL MEETING OF CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE (CGI)

Representatives from the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina will again attend the regular session of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) at the invitation of William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States. American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a member of the Clinton Global Initiative for three years.

This year's CGI meeting will last three days and will be held in New York on 20th, 21st and 22nd of September and topics on the agenda are:

  • "Work, work, work: Generating employment in 21 Century "
  • "Sustainable consumption: Ensuring long-term prosperity of the planet with limited resources"
  • "Protecting the rights of women in developing countries"

 

Representatives of the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina will aside from participating at the next plenary session use this opportunity to present their ideas and projects that are primarily related to education in BiH and the region, and also to establish links with representatives from all over the world. AUBIH will participate in the conference of the Federation of Balkan-American Associations (FEBA), which will also be held in New York.

In addition, meetings have been scheduled with senators, congressmen and businessmen in order to advance the work of the American University in Bosnia and the development of cooperation between higher education institutions and U.S. institutions and companies. The delegation of the American University in Bosnia at a meeting of CGI and will be led by AUBIH President Denis Prcic.

"William J. Clinton Foundation" was founded in 2007. The mission of the Foundation is fight against poverty, improving global health, strengthen the economy, protect the environment so as to enhance partnership between governments, business communities, NGOs and citizens, using the expertise, resources and passion to the good intentions get measurable results. To achieve its goals, the Foundation has launched a number of important initiatives with a variety of missions that reflect the vision of President Clinton. Major initiatives include: the Clinton Global Initiative, Clinton Climate Initiative, the Clinton Approach to Health care Initiatives, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, and Clinton's Initiatives for Sustainable Growth.
