Like every year in mid January, as a part of a traditional activity, students from George Mason University (GMU) from Virginia, USA visited Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Their host and organizer of this visit is the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBiH).
During this study program AUBiH arranged visits to the Presidency of BiH, Court of BiH, OHR (Office of the High Representative), ICMP (International Commission on Missing Persons), and the American Embassy in Sarajevo alongside lectures at AUBiH. The students also enjoyed a city tour of Sarajevo with AUBiH Ambassadors – representatives of AUBiH student body. In Bosnia and Herzegovina GMU students will also visit the cities of Konjic and Mostar.
Professor Yehuda Lucaks, Director of Center for Global Education at George Mason University said that it is always a pleasure to come to a friendly town of Sarajevo and to meet the old friends from partner University and added: ” This program offers students an unparalleled opportunity to study conflict and peacemaking. The entire program was well crafted, balanced, nuanced and highly enriching.“
This was another visit where AUBiH deepened the relationship with its partner universities and introduced Bosnia and Herzegovina to youth from USA. Meeting new friends and representing us at our best, AUBiH ambassadors have played an important part of the organization of this program.
