U.S. CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION VISITS AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Congressional Delegation from the United States of America visited American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, July 12th. The US Representatives took the opportunity to meet and talk with students from Tuzla, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Travnik and Mostar.

The meeting between the U.S Congressional Delegation and the students was hosted by American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A group of students coming from American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, University of Sarajevo and Sarajevo School of Science and Technology took part in the discussions with the delegation.

Prior to their meeting with students Congressmen Russ Carnahan and Mike Turner and Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey were introduced to the operations of the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They pointed out that American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the models on which a better future for Bosnia and Herzegovina can be made.

“We are honored by the visit of the US Congressional delegation to the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I would like to take this opportunity and, on behalf of our students, faculty and staff , express our gratitude for the Congressional support, their encouragement and the initiative for making joint efforts on strengthening the relationship between the United States of America and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, stated Denis Prcić, AUBiH President.

In partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY), American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina ensures two diplomas for its students upon completion of their studies – the Bosnia and Herzegovina diploma and the internationally-recognized SUNY diploma.

Classes are taught following the U.S. education system at all AUBiH Colleges – the College of International Finance and Banking, the College of Digital Economy and Information Technologies, as well as the College of International Law and Diplomacy in Tuzla and Sarajevo. In March 2009, AUBiH founded the College of International Law in Banja Luka, to be opened in the Fall of 2009.
