Congressman Arcuri wrote:
As a proud member of the Congressional Caucus for Bosnia in the U.S. Congress, I am writing to express my strong support for the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have great respect for the University's well-recognized and specialized degree programs.
I support further advancing the U.S. - Bosnian relationship, especially in the area of education where the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great vehicle to help in that regard. I commend you for working with the State University of New York, and stand ready to help further advance that relationship.
As you know, my congressional district includes the City of Utica, NY, which is home to thousands of refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Similar to my Italian ancestors that migrated to the Utica region at the turn of the 20th Century, the Bosnian community is making an enormous, positive contribution to the Utica area in terms of culture, economic development, education and overall quality of life. I consider myself a friend of the Bosnian community and hope to assist the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina in improving its relationship with academic institutions in my congressional district.
I wish you success in further development of the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Please feel free to contact me anytime if I can be of assistance.
Michael A. Arcuri
