U.S. Students Visit Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina

In co-operation with the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a visit for a group of 10 students from the United States of America.

Following an introductory presentation regarding the establishment, mandate and major achievements of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a judge of the Appeals Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hilmo Vučinić, answered numerous questions asked by the guests, including those concerning war crimes cases transferred to the Court by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the Court’s penal policy, public perception of the Court operations, as well as challenges the Court of Bosnia and Hercegovina is faced with.

During the second part of their visit, the students talked to a representative of the Public Information and Outreach Section of the Court of BiH and watched a video recording of a trial held before the Section I for War Crimes.

The students were invited to follow the activities of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina at its web-page.
