MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University made a partnership with American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first institution of higher education in the countries of the Western Balkans region which is student careers oriented in its education system.

The signing of the agreement ensures AUBiH students to study in cooperation with distinguished US institutions, with the possibility of receiving dual diplomas, study visits to the USA, faculty and student exchange, as well as exchange of publications, and organizing joint workshops and conferences.

One of the main objectives of West Virginia University, following the 2020 Strategic Plan for the Future, is to enhance global engagement through partnerships of this type.

WVU President James P. Clements and AUBiH President Denis Prcić met in Stewart Hall on West Virginia University Campus last month and signed a Memorandum of Understanding. West Virginia univerzitet is a public university of the state of West Virginia, founded in 1867, including campuses in Montgomery and Keyser, West Virginia. Currently, some 30,000 students are enrolled, while the annual budget amounts to 955 million USD.

American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded in 2005. In its Tuzla campus and campus additions in Sarajevo and Banja Luka it offers AUBiH students a variety of programs at three levels of education recognized in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union and Turkey. AUBiH mission is to provide top quality education opportunities not only to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but to international students as well, through studies and curricula exclusively in English, including faculty educated at best US and Eorpean universities. Excellent education settings, advanced technologies and the use of the Harvard case study method is available in all of the four AUBiH Colleges: American School of Economics, American School of Government, American School of Technology and American School of Modern Arts.
